Internet Procurement Method, IPM™
A method for ordering goods through the Internet. The method comprises
determining the user's specific procurement process and inventory ordering
needs e.g., by creating a list of supplies at a user's facility, by an audit of the
user's procurement records and/or by querying the personnel involved with
the procurement process. Once the procurement process and inventory
needs are determined, data indicative of the procurement process is input
into a content database. A web site is hosted, which is operative with the
computer program and the content database, the web site being accessible
via the Internet through a communications device. An electronic order form is
stored in the memory, the order form being unique to the user, and operative
with the computer program and the content database, such that the order
form lists goods that meet the requirements of the identified procurement
process of the user. The user can easily place an order for products using
this order form commonly known as a favorites or repeat shopping list.

U.S. Patent #6,895,389

Hello
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our patented Internet procurement
method which we call our Priority Program®. (patent #6,895,389 )
In the distribution industry, one of the most important ways to win a customer
is to make it easy for them to place an order, especially for the items they use
over and over again, week after week. It saves the customer time and money.
We do this by implementing the use of the Internet. And we have been
successful at transitioning over 70% of our sales that previously came over the
phone, fax or sales person but now comes via the Internet.
We are a distributor of paper, office, packaging, safety, food service and many
other items since 1947. We have focused our careers on developing a method
that helps our customers reduce the number of steps, paperwork and effort
just to place an order for supplies. We help them cut out the unnecessary
activities and paperwork while still providing cost control security. We make
ordering easy!
First, we help them identify their current procurement process. We use a
before and after flow chart to illustrate the number of steps a customer goes
through just to place a simple order. Our method eliminates unnecessary
steps. Then we create a list of all the products they repeatedly use by querying
their personnel and auditing their procurement records. Finally, we help them
identify the buyers in their company that would be responsible for keeping
inventory of specific items. We input that data into our computer.
Each buyer/user is given a password to access our website
www.SuperSupplies.com. An order form is displayed on our website with just
the items unique to that user. The user can quickly and easily access the order
form and place an order for any of the items on their list. For security, the
supervisor may want to review every order first. For accountability we provide
historical usage data and financial reports 24/7, along with one monthly online
consolidated invoice.
Over 70% of our sales revenue comes through the Internet from current
customers' repeat business. Our Internet procurement method is proven. We
have been able to significantly reduce our own costs in order entry personnel
and increase our accuracy and speed because the Internet orders go right into
our computer and right to our delivery warehouse.
I plan on working with selective distributors, software companies and
consultants that wish to license this patent in order for them to use or sell it as
part of their eCommerce business strategy.
Thank you for your interest. Feel free to contact me about licensing.
Sincerely,
